  • gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare mozzarella skulls in a silicone mold and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F and roast halved cherry tomatoes seasoned with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Toast sliced baguette for about 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Mix basil pesto with gel food coloring to achieve a deep black hue.
  6. Assemble by spreading black pesto on toasted bread, topping with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls.
