  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (sliced)
  • 1 large egg
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Warm water and milk with sliced butter until melted; whisk in the egg.
  3. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead in additional flour until smooth; let rest for 20 minutes.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and cut into twelve pieces.
